In the wake of a Boston Globe Spotlight Team Report published on July 16, 2017, top officials at the Manchester V.A. Medical Center were removed and a “top-to-bottom” review of the hospital was ordered by Veterans Affairs Secretary David J. Shulkin. The Globe’s Report brought to light allegations made by eleven V.A. doctors and medical professionals, all of whom were whistle-blowers represented by Attorney Andrea Amodeo-Vickery of Borofsky, Amodeo-Vickery and Bandazian, P.A.

On July 23, 2017, Attorney Andrea Amodeo-Vickery and Dr. William “Ed” Kois appeared on WMUR’s CloseUP with Adam Sexton. For those seeking more information regarding recent allegations of substandard care at Manchester’s V.A. Medical Center, this segment is a “must-watch.” The interview is available on WMUR’s website at: CloseUP: Whistleblower discusses issues at Manchester V.A.
On January 25, 2018, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) released its findings with regard to an investigation into the corrective measures taken by the Veterans’ Administration in the wake of whistle-blowers’ complaints. The findings, which were detailed in a letter to the President, were highly-critical of the V.A.’s investigation into complaints made by medical practitioners at the Manchester facility. In particular, the OSC noted that very little action was taken prior to release of the Boston Globe Spotlight article referenced above, in spite of the fact that the V.A. had been notified of the complaints at least six months before.
