Helpful Info Regarding COVID-19
At this time of upheaval in our country and around the world, we would like to pass along the following suggestions and information with regard to the COVID-19 crisis.
EMPLOYEES: If your hours have been reduced or you have been laid off, please apply now for unemployment compensation. If you do not apply immediately, you may lose a week or more of benefits: www.nhes.nh.gov or call 603-271-7700.
HOME OWNERS AND TENANTS: Utilities may not be disconnected during the crisis. Eviction proceedings may not be initiated during the crisis, either.
HOLDERS OF BUSINESS LOANS AND MORTGAGES: If you cannot make payments because of the crisis, call your bank and request that they withhold fees and work with you on repayments, if necessary.
SMALL BUSINESS CASH-FLOW ASSISTANCE: NH BEA will be announcing cash-flow loans and other assistance for businesses on Thursday.
DRIVER’S LICENSE RENEWALS: You may delay renewal for up to six months until further notice. Auto registration renewals may be handled locally or online.
SCHOOLS: All public schools are closed, with curricula and food service varying by district. Some school systems are delivering meals by bus, which has the added benefit of keeping the drivers employed. Read district and school webpages or contact local schools for more information.
FOOD: Anyone who needs help with food should contact their local food pantry; extra funds are coming to serve all the new people in need. Don’t be shy about asking for help!

HEALTH: Health and emergency personnel are already working hard to test and treat. HHS is working with hospitals to prepare backup locations for those with lesser symptoms when cases increase. Tests, swabs and respirators are in short supply, so, as you know, reducing the number of infections, through self-quarantining, is our best opportunity to keep everyone healthy.
SAFETY: Emergency management and state agencies are working on procedures to keep EMT and law enforcement safe. The National Guard are available, but because many of them are EMTs or hold other important jobs, they will not be called up unless their assistance is crucial.
